Answering a call of Duty; Volunteerism and Community Leadership in 2007Recent Chapter Accomplishments
Our Commitment! Our Leadership! As members of the Metro New York Chapter, we take pride in our collective accomplishments! Our Chapter accomplishments are significant-despite the economic downturn in New York. We began the year aggressively with several focus areas: membership growth, financial management, public service involvement, “brand” enhancement, and quality program development.
We have exceeded our membership and fund development targets! We exceeded our membership growth target of 10%. We delivered member events—many focused on youth development—including our Leaders program (+100 students). We look to complete the year with an emphasis and plan for assisting our members in the job market—including non-traditional career tracks for MBAs— we are planning now for a successful repeat of our last Executive Career Fair in February 2008 (attendance +300 expected). We are on-track to end 2007 having achieved our scholarship and operating fund development goals. This past January we awarded the largest number of scholarships in our history; our allocation goal of $36,000 was exceeded.
Our members are actively engaged in public service and business advisory volunteerism. We have developed new strategic partner relationships, and our contributions are better represented in media—including local coverage through Crain’s Business and KIP Business Report. We are working diligently to improve our web-site and marketing outreach.
We look to 2008-09 with a renewed commitment from our leadership and with even greater aspirations!
Best Regards,
Frances W. Ferguson
